Today I am sharing a Tutorial for “How to Scrap Family Photos”. In this Tutorial I make an album from scratch and scrap 30 photos from a Family Photo Shoot.
I created this Album and the Layouts inside the Album using the beautiful Mintay Precious Moment Collection.
How to Scrap Family Photos Video Tutorial
This “How to Scrap Family Photos” Video Tutorial will take you through all the steps to create this Album and all the layouts inside the album.
I created this Album as a present for my Parent-In-Laws. The Photo Shoot was a gift for their 70th Birthdays which we had done in December 2020. I created the Album as a Gift for their 50th Wedding Anniversary and gave them this present in May 2021. I am finally blogging all the photos of the project.
Family Photo Shoot Challenges
The photo shoot itself was a challenging experience for the children. Getting them all to smile while standing in the wind and in long grass on a farm with cow manure and flies was difficult. Some of the children were not happy with the clothes we had convinced them to wear. The littlest children understandably did not enjoy the length of time it took to get the photos. But it was certainly all worth it to have the memories captured.
I kept the layouts fairly simple because I needed to make so many of them and overall I found this collection very easy to work with.
During the photo shoot the photographer took about 300 photos. I asked my Mother-in-Law to select her top 30 and those were the ones I scrapped into the album.
I used lots of frames from the Mintay Frame book to put around my photos. Then I positioned the photos onto the layouts and embellished around them.
Colour Scheme
We all dressed in the same colour scheme of blue, black, white, and cream to match the colours in these papers. I was really trying to avoid having people dressed in a variety of bright colours that would be difficult to scrap. I had the papers in mind before we started the photo shoot and we planned our colour scheme to match these papers. Even though that sounds a little obsessive compulsive disorder lol, it did make the scrapping of the photos much easier because everything was in the same colour tones.
