The Design Team submits projects as inspiration and assists members with our challenges. In the second Facebook Group Paper Crafts Secrets ~ Kits and Printables the Design Team creates projects using Kits and Printables available in our shop for inspiration.

Carol Loftus

Hi there, I’m Carol and have been living on the beautiful Gold Coast for the last 10 years, but am originally from South Wales, having emigrated to Sydney 41 years ago. I have two sons aged 44 and 41 who have given me 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter aged from 7 to 13 and who are the centre pieces of all my layouts. I was introduced to scrapbooking through a Creative Memories party about 13 years ago and was hooked starting with my Son’s weddings. Though looking back on those layouts I have to shake my head at my style ( totally non existent) about 3 years ago I attended a mixed media class and was converted to the “ dark side”. I fell in love with the many mediums and tend to use at least one of them in my layouts. I am definitely not a fan of fussy cutting and admire all those ladies who do it so beautifully. I started cardmaking just before Christmas last year and although still a novice, am enjoying being able to post my own handmade cards to friends and family instead of shop bought. What a gift this part of my life has been during the past few months. I’m thoroughly enjoying being part of Papercraft Secrets Challenge Team under the tutelage and inspiration of Alicia.

Maree Kerwin

Hi, I am Maree. I live in a small Country Town called Boonah in South East Queensland, Australia. I have always been interested in some form of crafting. I first discovered scrapbooking when my children were small. A friend of mine became a Creative Memories Consultant. After some years Creative Memories closed in Australia so I stopped scrapbooking. I didn’t do any type of paper crafting for quite awhile after that until my sister decided to hold a card making party and I discovered all these wonderful new products. I soon became hooked and started making scrapbook layouts again. I didn’t even know what fussy cutting was. I find my favourite techniques involve lots of fussy cutting and I love to create using my cutting dies. I also have discovered how much I enjoy hand stitching on my layouts too. I do enjoy card making too but I think I probably create more layouts than cards.

Hi my name is Nicole and I am a passionate paper crafter living in the Goldfields WA. I started my scrapbooking journey shortly after the arrival of my first son 15 years ago and it wasn’t long before I got hooked on card making too. I also enjoy making off the page projects like mini albums and small gifts. My favourite scrapbooking styles are Grunge, Steampunk and Rustic, I love the distressed look and usually tear and ink everything! I enjoy fussy cutting and layering with foam tape to give my projects a bit of dimension.

Debra Beer

My name is Debra Beer, I live Scone, in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley of NSW. I am mum to 2 beautiful girls aged 33 and 31, who are both mums themselves. I have 4 grandchildren, 3 girls and 1 boy, ranging between 8 and 16 months. These beautiful people are often seen staring on my scrapbook pages. I have been scrapping for over 20 years and love every moment of it. I mainly do 12×12 pages, the occasional OTP item, and the occasional card. I love mixed media, fussy cutting, tearing, inks etc, generally just love experimenting with techniques. As well as scrapping I love photography and travel. We have been lucky enough to have travelled to lots of countries and have many wonderful memories of our travels (and photos to scrap). Thank you for the opportunity to work with this amazing group of ladies.

Roxanne Smith

Hi, my name is Roxanne Smith and I am currently living in London, United Kingdom. However, I am an Australian! I was born and raised in Albury, New South Wales, but spent many years studying in Melbourne. I have always been crafty, making cards and albums for all my friends and family for birthdays and other occasions. While carrying out my PhD (in science), I was extremely lucky to obtain a weekend job at Kaisercraft, Uni Hill Outlet. It was here that I was introduced to the wider craft world and developed a strong passion for Scrapbooking. I initially fell in love with all the Kaisercraft products and learnt about the Kaisercraft Corner Facebook group. It was here that I found my two most inspirational crafty idols: Chrissy Tingey and Alicia McNamara! They inspired me with their amazing creations to improve my skills to a Design Team Applicant level. I was super lucky and excited to be asked to join the Merly Impressions Design Team in 2019 and now the Papercraft Secrets Design/Challenge Team 2020. To be part of these Design Teams is a long-time dream come true! You will often find me scrapbooking photos of my Fiancé and our Dalmation, family, friends and all their babies, including the furr-babys. My crafty style has been described as eclectic because I am always trying something new and combining different ideas. Most of my projects include fussy cutting, background stamping and layering. I also love to add a touch of mixed media!

Janette Goodall

Hi my name is Janette (Jan), I am a wife, a mum and a nanna, and I have been crafting in some way most of my life, starting with knitting and crocheting taught by my mum when I was a child, to sewing at school, and a life-long love of stationery. I started making cards over 20 years ago when I began receiving them from an interstate friend, and thought, “I could do that”. It has become my passion and my therapy. I try to spend some creative time in my craft room every day. I first heard of Alicia in a stamping and papercraft magazine years ago and loved her work. I rediscovered her on Youtube a couple of years ago and have been a serious follower ever since.

I was a Guest Designer with Stampnation a few years ago, and with Paper Craft Secrets last year and am honoured to now be on Alicia’s design team. As much as I love the creative process I also love being able to encourage and inspire others to be and create their own kind of beautiful, which is different for each one of us.

Bronwyn Petzer

Hi there, I’m Bronwyn Petzer and I live in the sunny and warm city of Durban, in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, in South Africa. I’m a full time remedial teacher with a huge passion for arts and crafts, and even a bit of sewing. Before entering the teaching realm I spent a good number of years in the human resources and social work professions. I have a wonderfully supportive family and a bunch of fabulous pets, who I adore. I’m passionate about indigenous gardening, conservation and weekends spent at beach. I’ve always enjoyed being creative and can’t imagine a life without paint brushes, happy paint colours, pretty papers, embellishments and fabrics. I’m particularly fond of mixed media art and capturing memories (past and present) in my scrapbook albums.

Time spent crafting is extremely precious to me and its therapeutic nature has been so rewarding in my life (as I hope it is and has been for you too). I’m so grateful to be part of such a wonderfully supportive and creative community and can’t wait to share my projects and ooh and aah over yours too.

The mantra I often tell myself and the children I teach is try, try and try again…you can, it just takes practice. Keep crafting, friends!

Kay Forder

Hi,

My name is Kay Forder and I live in Adelaide,  South Australia, with my husband Tony. We have 2 daughters 38 and 36; 2 son-in-laws 39 and 37. We have 3 grandchildren aged 9, 7 and 6.

I began making cards about 12 years ago and discovered junk journal making about 3 years ago. I also like to collage. I love anything paper and love creating with it.

I created my YouTube channel about 2-3 years ago following from a comment about whether there was a tutorial on how to create layers like Kay Forder makes.

I have bought printables from Papercraft Secrets before and made cards with them. I am so excited to be a part of the Papercraft Secrets Design Team in being able to share my ideas using the Papercraft Secrets printables with others.

Cheers Kay
